You know you might be bored when....

  • You watch Parts 1 through 4 of Robert Downey, Jr. on "Inside the Actor's Studio" via those happy people of Youtube, and also request his Academy Award nominated film Chaplin from the local library
  • You make an apple streusel pecan cake with no clear idea of when/how/by whom it will be consumed
  • You declare Popchips and a hard boiled egg to be "Dinner" because the afternoon snack was 600 calories of milk and cookies
  • You think about eating the last 200 calorie cookie BECAUSE YOU CAN!
  • You decide now is a good time to start at the first post of a random stranger's blog in February 2008 and work your way forward
  • You wander on and off Facebook hoping something has changed...but it hasn't. (Note: You can't stay on too long or people will notice that you've been on FB for 4 hours straight and start thinking you don't have a life. Its all about appearances...)
  • You start feeling pouty that you haven't actually signed up for Netflix because it would be perfect for a time like this. But you still don't sign up for Netflix.
  • You conveniently ignore at least two useful things that could be done (i.e. folding laundry, getting the mail)
  • You Blog about your boring afternoon.

Blug

I've been trying to Blog for days now. But nothing seems to be working. In fact, I just posted a blog and then deleted it. If you're a lucky reader who uses the Google Reader program, you probably got a chance to read that ill-fated post. Maybe you should copy it off and have me sign it. As an "out of print" edition, it could be worth money someday. Probably not the best retirement plan, but its a start.

I considered writing about my love of Popchips because really--I love them. They might be the best creation since Macaroni & Cheese in a box. If you haven't tried them yet, you are missing out. I like the Original flavor the best. At 120 calories per serving, they are a dieters dream snack. I can usually consume three servings in a sitting, but that's still only 360 calories! SKIDOOSH!

Maybe my readers would be interested to know what I do during the day--the daily schedule of a public school teacher? But then I realized today consisted mostly of surfing the World Wide Interweb for offbeat news, and halfheartedly correcting a few assignments. Not the most thrilling things to share.

I saw the Hannah Montana movie over Spring Break and I am not ashamed to admit it. I downloaded "The Climb" and have committed to learning the Hoedown Throwdown. What can I say? Love me some Hannah Montana. But I can't turn that into an entire blog post.

I binged on treats last weekend--yay for the end of Lent!--and I considered sharing with y'all what I ate--including lots of Easter candy, Toll House pie, 3 kinds of cake, and the most delicious of cookies at Ben's. That's still not a bad idea, but its also rather embarrassing to admit I had 3 kinds of cake in one weekend (or...day...).

Anyway, the basic story is that you shouldn't blog when there's nothing concrete to say. So here's the major news in my life: Tomorrow I'm running the Salt Lake Half Marathon with my sister, Abby. I am PUMPED and EXCITED and NERVOUS and totally READY. Its gonna be big and I'd have to say its definitely worth blogging about. Perhaps in the future...

Confession

For reasons I cannot explain, I really want to watch this:

Even though I know* I would give it one of these if I was a movie critic:

I confuse myself sometimes.
*sigh*

*I know because I've already seen it three times. In the theater. True story.

Checkin' it twice

I am a fan of the To Do list. This is a newly acquired thing, but it has made my school year so much better than it was in years past. At the beginning of each week, I make a list of everything I need to accomplish--laundry, bank, update budget, watch Grey's Anatomy, etc. I include even the smallest chore because crossing that off will make me feel accomplished. Seriously. I adore crossing things off. Sometimes I write things down after I've done them so I can immediately cross something off.

I find it almost necessary at this point to write things down because if I don't write it down--I'll forget. I might not forget it forever, but I will probably forget it for a good long while. Its not that I don't have a good memory, because I do. Ask any of my friends. I can explain in detail what I did on Martin Luther King day last year. I remember all the words to my elementary school song. I can remember the name of waiters at restaurants I went to years ago. And that, my dear readers, is the problem. I remember so much stuff (most of it trivial) that I have a hard time getting a grip on the info that is important for the here and now.

For example, I forgot to write down "Blog about Pay it Forward" on my To Do list. Its now been more than a week and I am shirking my duty. I want to cross it off my mental To Do list (or...maybe I'll write it down and cross it off all at the same time...), so here's the deal. Mr. B posted this on his Blog, I "won" and now I'm paying it forward.

The first three people to comment on my Blog will receive some type of handmade Awesomeness from me, on or before December 31, 2009. And you know I've gotten awfully crafty lately so its not going to be some nappy Girls Camp craft of days gone by. The only payment is your promise to keep it going. Make this same offer and let others keep the goodness moving forward. So...who's in?
