The Adventures of Pocket Sky, Episode 1

Pocket Sky joined me last week on an adventure in Washington D.C. I had to go for a Teaching American History Conference (i.e. WORK), and he had to go because I had to leave the real Sky behind at home. Pocket Sky is a great travel companion--fits in my purse or pocket--and can be pulled out at a moment's notice! Here are a few of his adventures from the first few days in D.C.:

Pocket Sky didn't cause too much trouble on the flight(s) from Salt Lake to Reagan International. Here we're enjoying an in-flight snack of M&Ms!

Here is Pocket Sky in the first Plenary Session at the TAH Project Director's Conference. It was fairly long, but not entirely boring. Just a little bit.

Pocket Sky helped me write a postcard to the Real Sky, and to little mission bro, Jon. The postcards are bigger than he is!

On Monday night, Pocket Sky considered being 'Spy Sky' at the International Spy Museum. It was pretty fascinating. Did you know there was a fully operating German spy ring in NYC during World War II? And that the US brought them down through the use of a double agent?! FASCINATING. Pocket Sky agrees.

Can you see it? That's The White House! Pocket Sky was enraptured to finally see something he's only ever seen in pictures or on TV. There it is!! We took in some site-seeing on our own. Walking down Pennsylvania Avenue was surreal.

On the way back from The White House, Pocket Sky and I ran into General John J. Pershing--leader of the American Expeditionary Force in WWI. Nobody was there (Why?! General JJP is AWESOME!) but us, so we took a picture. Pocket Sky sure looks tiny, huh?

Long day--lots meetings and lots of walking in the humid heat afterward. So we finished up the night with a MASSIVE burrito from Qdoba. Pocket Sky should have eaten more because I ate too much and it made me a tad ill.

And then...it was bedtime. In this MASSIVE and super comfy King-Sized masterpiece of a bed. Pocket Sky is already there--can you see him?

Zoom in on the center pillow and BAM! There he is. In all his adorable, pocket-sized brilliance.

More adventures to report on in the next episode of...

This is almost as cool as the jelly donut, minus the crustiness. And eventual mold.
